What a beautiful film by Guadagnino about desire as transcendent and at the same time a burden. A film that beautifully captures a story of the body and touch that is filled with almost supernatural eroticism.
I'm glad I saw this film, but it's not for everyone, especially those who don't want to embrace all the curveballs of the narrative
With a mysterious ending and sex scenes that may seem over the top to some nerds, Guadagnino is one of the few working greats who hasn’t given up on lust as a vehicle for his stories, and it’s beautiful. Queer shows off its exceptionally captivating sound design and hallucinatory presentation of how sex is such a powerful experience for humans and an essential part of being human that it can’t be left out of stories for the sake of audience complacency, Queer challenges you.
The art direction and cinematography are excellent, with beautiful scene-setting and excellent acting
Daniel Craig can break your heart by doing very little, and Queer seems to be just one step on this new journey alongside Knives Out for someone who wants to be more than the iconic 007.
